Sankashti chaturthi 2009 – Sankashti Chaturti dates of Ganesh Sankatahara chaturthi. Sankasti chaturthi significance is here: Sankasti chaturti fallen in the month of November on the date 6th friday and in December 5th could be observed.Sankatahara Chadurthi is an auspicious day dedicated to Bhagwan Ganesh, which falls every month in a Hindu calendar. Sankata means “problems or worries” and Hara means “removing or eliminating”, therefore Sankata Hara Chadurthi is a day to invoke the blessings of Lord Ganesh to remove all problems in life.
Chaturthy falls on the fourth day of the second fortnight of every month on the Hindu Calendar. Devotees fast for a whole day and break their fast after having darshan of Lord Moon and worshipping Lord Ganesh.The fast is ended by offering meal to Brahmin. Ganesh Atharvashirsha Avartan (recitation of Lord Ganesh) is performed on Sankashti Chaturthi. Abhisheka can also perform to the Vinayaka.
