Sri Rama Navami festival is on date 24th March 2010.SriRamaNavami also known as is a Hindu festival RamaNavami, celebrating the birth of Lord Ram to King Dasharatha and Queen Kausalya of Ayodhya. SriRama is the 7th incarnation of the Dashavatara of Vishnu. How is Rama Navami celebrated is explained in brief below.The SriRam festival falls in the Shukla Paksha on the Navami, ninth day of the Chaitra month of Hindu calendar. Thus it is also known as Chaitra Masa Suklapaksha Navmi, and marks the end of nine-day Chaitra-Navratri celebrations. Shree RamNavmi is most celebrated in Bhadrachalam. In SriRamaNavami2010, Vasanta Paksha Thirukalyana Brahmotsavalu are celebrated from 16th March 2010 to 30th March 2010. RamaNavami2010 Brahmotsavam is celebrated from 11 days which begins on 20th March 2010 and continues till 30th March 2010. Badrachalam Jai Shri Sita Ramachandra swamy Temple is the most popular holy place to celebrate ShriRama Navami, ShriRamaNavami Brahmotsavam and Sri Sita Rama Kalyanam.24 th March 2010 – Srivari Kalyanam is performed exactly at Abhijith muhurta. Celebration
Hindus normally perform Kalyanotsavam (marriage celebration) with small deities murtis of Rama and Sita in their homes, and at the end of the day the deity is taken to a procession on the streets. Kalyanam, a ceremonial wedding performed by temple priests. Panakam, a sweet drink prepared on this day with jaggery and pepper.
