Hanumad Vratam is observed on Margashira Shuddha Trayodashi. In some states in India like Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Maharashtra and Gujarat it Hanumad Vratha will be performed. This HanumadVratam is observed for good health and prosperity. During Hanumath vratam, Lord Hanuman is worshipped with Shodashopachar puja. Hanuman vrat katha is recited in puja and naivedyam is offered to the Lord. Hanuman Astottaram, Sundara kanda hanuman dandakam, hanuman chalisa, hanuman mantra Hanuman stotras are chanted as part of puja.

Hanuman is a Hindu deity, who is an ardent devotee of Rama, a central character in the Indian epic Ramayana. A general among the vanaras, an ape-like race of forest-dwellers, Hanuman is an incarnation of the divine, whose fate it is to aid the hero Rama in the struggle against the demon king Ravana.
