Father’s Day is a day honoring fathers and celebrating fatherhood, paternal bonds, and the influence of fathers in society. It is celebrated on the third Sunday of June in 52 of the world’s countries and on other days elsewhere. It complements Mother’s Day, the celebration honoring mothers.

In Hindu tradition, Father’s Day is celebrated on the new moon day during the second week of August. This is common among countries with Hindu majorities like in Nepal.

In the US, Father’s Day is celebrated on the third Sunday of June. Its first celebration was in Spokane, Washington on June 19, 1910. Other festivities honoring fathers had been held in Fairmont and in Creston, but the modern holiday did not emerge from those.

Ideas

Surprise with some Executive diaries, planners, table calendars, mobile phone covers, pen stands, maps, globe and paperweights adorn the tabletops of perfectionists.

Surprise with some Cakes, pies, cookies and desserts are for those old men who have a sweet tooth and if they are diabetic, do add a warning note not to have too much of them.

Surprise with some Cigars – For those who smoke, top-quality cigars and ashtrays are of course the best bet. Be sure to buy only the best ones.

Sing a Peom

Happy Father’s Day

A Dad is a person
who is loving and kind,
And often he knows
what you have on your mind.
He’s someone who listens,
suggests, and defends.
A dad can be one
of your very best friends!
He’s proud of your triumphs,
but when things go wrong,
A dad can be patient
and helpful and strong
In all that you do,
a dad’s love plays a part.
There’s always a place for him
deep in your heart.
And each year that passes,
you’re even more glad,
More grateful and proud
just to call him your dad!
Thank you, Dad…
for listening and caring,
for giving and sharing,
but, especially, for just being you!
Happy Father’s Day
